Boston Amateur Basketball Club is established.

1977

Founded by Leo Papile, BABC’s first team includes David Blatt, Jerry Scott, Felton Sealy, Eddie Thurman, and Craig Watts. Subsequent players include future professionals Dana Barros, Eric Brunson, Patrick Ewing, Chris Herren, Dwayne McClain, Rumeal Robinson. BABC becomes one of the most successful Amateur Athletic Union basketball program in the U.S., winning more than 20 national championships and more than 100 New England AAU gold medals and sending 25 players to the NBA.
